New activities at ALF

How do you enrich an already quite intense after-school enrichment program? With some creative timetabling, and a lot of help from friends!

This year at ALF we’ve been able to offer girls more activities than their regular academic and leadership classes, by using some of their Independent Study Periods (ISPs) to pack in a variety of new options with the help of some students from our host school. In the last month, girls have been able to experience one or more of the following: Singing classes, Art classes, Haiku writing and illustration, Tech classes, and Games! They love the chance to be with their new friends once a week and try out something new…

We are happy that girls can choose to use their ISP in a way that suits their needs. For example, they can choose to memorise material for school if that’s what they need, or join an activity group, or work independently online, or get help from a teacher, or complete homework… this is good practice for them because after all, knowing how to spend your time wisely is part of being a good leader!
