Happy Teacher’s Day!

Every 5th September, Teacher’s Day is celebrated in schools across India. This year a special speech by the Prime Minister was to be broadcast in schools across the country during the afternoon. At ALF, our students had arranged a few surprises for us to celebrate Teacher’s Day.

The 10th standard girls asked us to cut one period short and assemble in a classroom for a Teacher’s Day presentation, and even a poem specially written by Alison and Divya!  After that, we went out into the hall for some games.  First of all, we had to put on caps with tea bags hanging from them…

Then, we played a game where we had to tie balloons to our ankles and compete to pop each other’s balloons… this proceeded with so much speed and excitement that no photographic evidence could be captured, but for the record, Noopura won.

Next, a game of musical chairs.

After that, we got prizes, and were given a beautiful card, and handmade gift baskets.

We felt truly cherished by our students today and had a lot of fun playing the games they organised for us–as much fun as they had watching us! Thank you, students, for giving us such a lovely afternoon.
