Parent-teacher conference

Do you remember when you were in school, how your parents came to open house to meet all your teachers? Some of us as students were excited, but I’m sure that most of us were a little nervous of our teachers talking to our parents.

What would the teachers say to our parents? Would they say they we were great students? Or maybe that we goofed around a little too much? Whatever it was, there were definitely some emotions going around in our heads beforehand.

On July 19th, Avasara Leadership Fellows had the first parent-teacher conference of the academic year. Just like when we were younger, our students came in excited for their parents to meet their teachers, but I’m sure also a little apprehensive as well. Of course we had great things to say about all of our students, but like at any parent-teacher conference, we also had to have some difficult conversations as well. At ALF, we realize how important it is to not only teach our students, but also to involved the family as well in order to realise the full potential of our 8th and 10th standard girls.
