ALF welcomes Goldman Sachs volunteers!

Do you know your strengths and weaknesses?  Do you know why is it important to know them? Our Grade 9 Fellows definitely do! As part of the Goldman Sachs (GS) Community TeamWorks project, 17 volunteers gave up an afternoon recently to share their personal experiences and help our Grade 9 Fellows to explore and identify their strengths and weaknesses through discussion, an activity and role-play.  Volunteers facilitated a two-hour LE lesson with small groups of students, so that each girl had the opportunity to learn from the professional and personal experiences of the volunteers.

For our Grade 10 Fellows, the GS volunteers discussed and shared stories of facing adversity in a work setting and how it was addressed.

As with our other LE activities, this leadership day helped our students to understand themselves and their personal leadership styles just before they embark on a substantial leadership project. Keep following us to hear about all the interesting projects that our students will be pursuing as part of their leadership and community development project! We can’t wait to share them!
