Budding poets

Do you remember writing poems in school, and struggling to find the right rhyming word?

Did you tell your teacher you think poems which don’t rhyme are absurd?

In ALF recently, girls wrote poems in Shel Silverstein’s Whatif style.

The results were impressive, and made the young poets smile.

Up til now, poetry was largely an activity that Ninth Standard girls get to read and analyse, but not create.  Our wonderful volunteer Aria took the girls through the writing process and showed them just how enjoyable and dynamic poetry can be.
